Flamborough may seem like it is well off of the beaten track, and that is in many ways a charm of the village, it is in fact located just outside the all action resort of Bridlington and within a short drive of Scarborough, Hull and slightly further afield Whitby, York, Leeds and Wakefield.

Flamborough Attractions

Due to the size of Flamborough, it is easy to explore all that the village has to offer on foot, with the majority of the mains draws of the area within a small stroll of the caravan holiday parks on offer.

Flamborough Head Lighthouse

Flamborough Head Lighthouse was built way back in 1674 it wasn’t until 1806 when it was first lit and first became a working lighthouse. Nowadays it is a Grade 2 listed building and it is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in the country.

The area around the lighthouse is now a large car park which has a beach shop and a café for holidaymakers to make use of before heading off on a number of cliff top walks that start from the lighthouse.

Whilst Flamborough sits atop a large chalking cliff top, there are 2 step but sturdy paths that take you down to the 2 main beaches in Flamborough- the North Landing Beach and the South Landing Beach.

RSPB Bempton Cliffs

The iconic Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve is run by the RSPB is famous for the 1000’s of Northern Gannets, Atlantic Puffins, Razorbills, Common Guillemots, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Fulmars and other seabirds that call the cliffs home.

There is a visitor centre, café and viewing platform connected by accessible paths and ramps to allow all holidaymakers to make the most of one of the greatest places to view local British wildlife in the UK.

Flamborough is located just to the North of the popular seaside resort of Bridlington which offers a good choice of restaurant, bars, café’s, shops as well as holiday attractions including large amusement arcades, boat rides (including ones going past Flamborough and Bempton Cliffs) and fair ground rides.

From their you can enjoy a trip back in time on some of the world’s most iconic steam trains that leave the town’s main train stations and takes you through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

To the South of Flamborough is the historic market town of Beverley, which is home to historic Minster whilst the city of Hull is the hub of East Yorkshire and offers the biggest range of shops, bars, café’s, restaurants, museums and theatres in the region.
