Whitstable Caravan Holidays
As a smaller seaside town and resort, the choice of caravan holiday parks offered for holidaymakers to stay on may not be able to match the bigger holiday resorts in the south east of England but the good news for those wanting to enjoy a holiday park experience, is that the ones on offer in and around the town are of a good quality.
Whitstable Attractions
Just as the relaxed nature of Whitstable means it doesn’t have a huge range of holiday parks on offer, the town also doesn’t have a long list of visitor attractions, but that for many is just part of the charm of this part of Kent.
For many holidaymakers it is simply been next to the coast and been able to look out to sea that really makes a holiday a holiday and that is something that the town really lends itself to.
The town centre of Whitstable offers a decent range of independent and chain shops, bars, cafes and restaurants with the main high street running through the centre of town to the seafront and to the Harbour.
The towns harbour still acts as a hub for visitors and locals alike and whilst there is still a small fishing fleet operating out of the harbour, nowadays it is a place to sits, relax and enjoy a meal or drink in one of the harbour side bars, cafes and restaurants.
There is also a popular market down at the harbour and there are a small number of tourist shops.
The beautiful coast in and around the town can be viewed from the Tankerton Slopes whilst those wanting a quieter day out at the beach can visit the nearby Tankerton beach.
There is a small number of visitors attractions and historical sites in and around the town including the Whitstable Castle and Gardens, the Whitstable Museum and Gallery and the Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre whilst the towns own Playhouse Theatre offers a good night out.

Transport
The towns location in the far south east of the British Isles does make it a long drive for many of us to reach the resort but the good news is that Whitstable location close to the M2 motorway does make it relatively straightforward to reach using your own transport.
The town is just a short drive from the A299, which joins to the M2 which joins the M25 at Dartford as the A2. From the M25, you can reach most parts of the UK including the Midlands, the North of England, Scotland and Wales via motorways such as the A1(M), M1 (M6), M4 and M11.
If you are arriving at the town from other parts of the south coast, the town can be reached via the M25 or the A28 then A2 from Canterbury.
If you are relying on public transport to reach the resort, the good news is that it is also easy to reach as the town has its own train station.
Whitstable railway station is on the Ramsgate branch of the Chatham Main line. Whilst the destinations on offer are limited, there a multiple direct trains an hour to London, with both Victoria and St Pancras covered.
From there you can connect to the majority of towns and cities across England, Scotland and Wales via London’s mainline stations.
Other locations with direct services from the station include Chatham, Ebbsfleet International (for connections to HS1 and Eurostar), Ramsgate, Deal, Dover, Ashford International and Margate.
