South East Caravan Holidays

The South East of England is a large region that whilst the most populous in the UK, it also features many areas of natural beauty, stunning coastlines and of course multiple iconic places of historical importance.

When it comes to the South East, it is best to break I the region down into the counties that make up the region including:


Berkshire is one of the home counties and is also known as the Royal County of Berkshire due in no small part to been home of Windsor Castle.

Known for it’s royal links and private schools, the historic county also features the river Thames and has Reading as it’s county town.


Buckinghamshire is a ceremonial county of South East England that borders Greater London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

As one of the home counties, the county is known as a commuter belt for London with towns such as High Wycombe, Amersham, Chesham and Chalfonts been amongst the most densely populated parts of England.

The county town is Milton Keynes but from a holiday point of view it is historic towns such as Olney and the many rural areas in the county that are the draw.

East Sussex

The county of East Sussex, which borders Kent, West Sussex and Surrey, is one of the sot popular counties of the South East for those looking to holiday in the region due to the many seaside holiday resorts that can be found in the county but there is much more to East Sussex than it’s beautiful coast.


Essex features some of the regions biggest and best holiday resorts including Clacton-on-Sea and Southend-on-Sea but there is much more to this historical county that it’s coast including the city of Colchester which is home to many top attractions.

Isle of Wight

Located just off of the cost of Hampshire and close to both Southampton and Portsmouth, there are numerous ferry’s going over to the island which makes for a unique holiday destination.


Kent is one of the most historic counties in South East England and as one of the ‘Home Counties’ it offers good links to the capital city of London via road and HS1.

The county is also linked to the continent via numerous cross channel ferry services and the channel tunnel but there is so much on offer in the county itself that you are sure of lots to enjoy whilst on holiday.


Oxfordshire is a ceremonial county bordering Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire that is perhaps famed for its county town of Oxford and it’s world renowned university.

The county is a mostly rural region which makes it ideal for those looking for a holiday where they can explore the beautiful nature of England.


Surrey, as one of the key commuter belts for London, is one of the country’s wealthiest county’s and this for many is one of the key attractions to the county as it is home to many idyllic villages and many beautiful rural areas.

West Sussex

West Sussex borders East Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey but it is it’s southern border that sits on the English Channel that is the biggest draw for many holidaymakers due to the number of holiday resorts found there alongside popular cities and towns such as Brighton and Chichester.
