New Romney Caravan Holidays and Holiday Parks

The Kent Coast
Interestingly due to the build up of silt in the former harbour, the town is now over a mile from the sea although its past can be seen throughout the town with a mooring ring even found in front of the towns impressive church.
That has led to the interesting sight of many buildings, including the church, in the town having steps from their entrance to the ground.
Golf fans will perhaps know the town thanks to the nearby Littlestone-on-Se links golf courses that has been used for qualifying at the Open Championship.
In modern times, the town is popular with holidaymakers and acts as the headquarters for the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch heritage railway and of course it is also home to a small selection of caravan holiday parks for those looking for a relaxing holiday in the Kent countryside.

New Romney Attractions
As a small and relaxed town in the Kent countryside, it will come as no surprise that New Romney doesn’t have a massive choice of visitor attractions to offer holidaymakers but that isn’t to say that the town has nothing to offer.
For many it is the location of the town that is the biggest attraction of New Romney as you not only get a great location in the countryside but you also can take a stroll to the seaside and enjoy the Kent coastline.
The biggest draw for many to the town is the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch heritage railway which is headquartered in the town and runs through over 13 miles of beautiful Kent countryside and along the coast.
The lines run from Hythe to Dungeness via Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay, Romney Sands and of course New Romney.
The railway makes not only for a great day out reliving the history of the coast but it also makes for a great way to explore this part of Kent.
The town acts as a gateway for visiting the iconic Romney Marsh, an area of reclaimed land that is almost perfectly flat and is now rich agricultural land that spreads for miles across the coastline.
There is a small visitor centre on the outskirts of town that gives you an insight into the area.
The area has a long military history that is dominated by the battles between England and France for much of the last 1000 years and the areas part in World War 2. That history can be best explored at the Romney Marsh Wartime Collection museum.
The town St Nicholas Church is a local landmark whilst a short walk will see you reach the Kent coast at Littlestone.
