Birchington-on-Sea Attractions

The biggest attraction of the village of Birchington is its wonderful and unique location on the Kent coast as it is built around 4 natural bays including Minnis Bay, Grenham Bay, Beresford Gap and Epple Bay.

Interestingly the village sits on the Isle of Thanet, a former Island that the channel has now silted up and it has re-joined the mainland.

The former channel, to the west of the village is now low lying and almost perfectly flat and that is where Minnis Bay is found whilst to the east of the village is made of chalk cliffs and cliff stacks, where the other 3 bays are found.

Minnis Bay is a popular beach aimed at families and offering lots of attractions including water sports, cafes, beach huts, pubs, restaurants and walking/cycling routes.
