Nearby Clacton-on-Sea
Southminster is a small town located on the Dengie Peninsula in the Maldon District of the South East county of Essex.

To the north of the town is the tidal River Blackwater which has been a gateway for trade coming into and leaving the area going all of the way back to Roman times and that has brought much wealth and lots of history to the town down the years.

Part of this wealth can be seen at the towns St Leonards Church which dates back to the 15th century, although it is believed that there was another church at the same site before that.

Nowadays the town is a relaxing place that is ideal for those who want a base to enjoy some peace and quiet whilst been on holiday and to also explore all that Essex and the East of England has to offer.
