Winchelsea Caravan Holidays and Holiday Parks
Nearby Hastings
Winchelsea is a small and historic town in the county of East Sussex that is the ideal base for those who want to relax whilst on holiday for and those who don’t need all of the attractions of a big holiday resort.

With that said, the town is only around 7 miles north east of Hastings, which has lots to offer visitors and means that you can use a caravan holiday park in Winchelsea as a base to get away from it all and also as a base for exploring all that the South East has to offer.

The town, whose name is thought to derive from the colloquial word ‘qwent’, referring to marshland and the Saxon word ‘chesil’ which means shingle beach, is located in the east of the county and close to the Kent border which makes it ideal for those looking to explore to the south east and for those wanting to enjoy a day out on the continent- don’t forget your passport.

Sitting on the site of a medieval town known as Old Winchelsea which was lost to coastal erosion, the history of the local area can be seen in numerous places throughout the town including key buildings such as the Court Hall and the Strand Gate.
