Hastings Caravan Holidays and Holiday Parks

Nowadays the town is a thriving holiday resort where you can enjoy a stroll around its old town full of independent traders, take a ride on a cliff railway or visit Hastings Castle.
The best place to enjoy that is on one of the resorts beaches or by taking a walk along the iconic double decker promenade but thanks to semi-rural nature of Hastings, there are lots of places to take in the beauty of this part of the south east.

Hastings Attractions
The town gives itself to the historic Battle of Hastings which happened, of course, in 1066 and which everybody has studied at school. The actual battle happened at Senlac hill which is around 8 miles from the town itself and it has now become a major attraction complete with a visitor centre.
The town has seen lots of important things happen in and around it down the years and that has left the town with a number of important sights and monuments which are available for visitors to visit.
One of the most impressive of those is Hastings Castle which overlooks the town from high upon the cliffs looking out over the English Channel.
The towns more modern history can be seen in the Old Town which is now home to narrow streets full of independent cafes, bars and shops.
The seafront is of course an attraction in itself but there is lots to be explored simply by walking along the long promenade in Hastings, which is of course an attraction in itself as the double decker promenade runs from the towns Pier to past Marine Court.
The seafront is of course home to a wonderful beach, which is always great for spending time together relaxing. You can enjoy a trip on one of the resorts Cliff Railways which saves all of the effort from taking in the great views overlooking the town.
There are a number of museums in the town including a Fisherman’s museum, a True Crime museum, Hastings museum and a museum dedicated to the numerous shipwrecks that have unfortunately hit the town down the years.
There are a number of stately homes, gardens and parks to take advantage of the weather when sunny but if it takes a turn for the worse, why not spend a day at Blue Reef Aquarium?
Other attractions include a miniature railway, a lifeboat station visitors centre and a couple of theatres.
Location
Hastings is located on the south coast of England, in the county of East Sussex, to the east of Brighton and Eastbourne and to the west of Folkstone and Dover.
The town is due south of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers views out towards the continent with Boulogne-Sur-Mer in France viewable on clear days.
Transport
Arriving into Hastings is relatively straightforward task for those using their own transport but it is of course a long drive for most of us due to been located on the south coast.
From the east, the resort can be reach via the A259 from other coastal parts or via the A2070 which links to the M20 at Ashford.
For those heading to the town from the north and the midlands, the A21 links Hastings with the M25, from where you can connect to most major towns and cities in England, Scotland and Wales.
If you are heading to the resort from the west, the A27/M27 links to West Sussex, Dorset, Hampshire and onto Devon and Cornwall.
If you are reliant on public transport, there are long distance coach service to the town with many needing a change of coach in London.
If you are heading to the town from other southern town and cities, it is relatively straight forward to reach the town via train as it has it’s own railway station on the Hasting Line, the East Coastway line and the Marshlink line.
These allow for direct rail services to Ashford International (for HS1 and Eurostar connections), Brighton, Southampton and onto London- form where you can connect to all major towns and cities.
Out and About
To the north of the town is the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which offers lots of chances for hikes and walks that the whole family can enjoy.
To the west of the resort are the popular towns and holiday destinations of Eastbourne, Brighton and Worthing whilst to the east of the resort is Folkstone and Dover.
From both of those 2 you can enjoy ferry and Euro Tunnel services over to the continent for a day out with a difference or why not head to the nearby Ashford and enjoy a trip on Eurostar to Brussels, Paris, Disneyland Paris or Amsterdam?
