Location
Tarka caravan park is located on the main A361 which runs from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe, which make sit not easy to reach the park but it also makes it easy to explore North Devon and it’s stunning coastline. The road continues through Barnstaple and after merging with the M36, it links with the M5 motorway near Taunton.
Whilst the park is easy to reach for those with access to their own transport, it is a bit harder to reach for those relying on public transport.
The parks somewhat remote location between Barnstaple and the Devon coast does make for a peaceful holiday base but it also means that it will take some time to reach for those without a car.
On the plus side there are long distance coach services to the nearby town of Barnstaple and there is also a train station in the town as well. The Tarka Line runs from Exeter to Barnstaple, so you can get connection to most part of the UK from Exeter.
It is around a 10 minute taxi ride form Barnstaple and there is a bus stop right outside the park’s entrance.
Out and About
As mentioned the nearby town of Barnstaple is easily reached from the park and it well worth visiting for any holiday-maker. The town offers a great range of local shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and the town (and surrounding area) is also home to many great attractions.
