Shurland Hall can date back to 12th century and has welcomed numerous dignitaries and royals during its long history.
The biggest attraction for many visitors to Leysdown is it’s sandy beach which but the beach and marshes in the area is also important from a conservation point of view as it is home to many specials of seabirds.
A great place to experience the local wildlife is the Elmley National Nature Reserve which is in the south west of the island whilst the Saxon Shore Way Cliff offers a more rugged view of nature.
The largest town on the Isle of Sheppey is Sheerness and it is here where many head for day of shopping and there are also regular train services back to mainland and onto London.
