Cei Bach Beach is a beautiful sandy beach that is a great place to take in the views of Cardigan Bay, to watch the sunset or to simply relax as a family.

Another great place to take in the views of the bay is on the Ceredigion Coastal Path, where you can stroll along the coastline for miles after miles or why not call into the Penlon Cottage Brewery for a drink with a view?

If you are an animal lover, there is lots to enjoy in New Quay with the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre been located in the centre of town or from the harbour you can enjoy boat rides to watch the resident dolphins in their natural habitat.

There are a number of historical buildings in the town, including St Llwchaiarns Church as well as a good, but limited, range of local shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.

The nearby New Quay Honey Farm is the largest bee farm in the country and sells honey, mead and beeswax that cannot be beat for freshness.

In the summer, the resort hosts an annual regatta featuring a range of water sports including swimming, rowing and racing.

Location

New Quay is located on the mid-section of Cardigan Bay, on its own bay, near to the A487 which make sit easy to reach from the north and south and also makes it easy to explore the region.

The town is just to the north of Aberporth and Cardigan and to the south of Aberystwyth, the largest town in the region.

Transport

For those using their own vehicle, the park can be reach from the north and south along the A487, which links to the A40 at Fishguard, the A489 to the north and the A44 at Aberystwyth.

The resorts remote location makes it a great place to relax and to enjoy the towns stunning natural beauty but it does also make it trickier for those relying on public transport to reach the park and to explore the region whilst on holiday.

The town does have local bus services to Aberaeron, Cardigan and Aberystwyth with the former having regular long distance coach services as well as train services to large towns and cities in the English Midlands, including Birmingham.

Out and About

Just to the south of Cardigan is the port town of Fishguard form where you can take a ferry ride across the Irish Sea to Ireland with daily trips to Rosslare available.

Away from the coast are the towns of Rhayader and Buith Wells whilst slightly further afield are St David’s (home to one of the most famous castles and cathedrals in Wales) and the Brecon Beacons, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
