Holiday Parks North Wales

If you are looking for a North Wales caravan holiday for more information about North Wales holiday parks, here at CaraHols.co.uk we are here to help.

When it comes to North Wales and caravan holiday parks, it is the coast where the majority of parks are found, especially in and around the popular seaside resorts of Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Bangor but from a holidaymaker point of view searching for holiday parks, it is probably best to break North Wales into the counties that make up the region.

Choose from following areas:

Flintshire

Flintshire is in the North-East of Wales, bordering Cheshire and acts as the gateway to wales for those coming from the North of England.

The largest town in Flintshire is Connay’s Quay with other large settlements been Flint, Buckley and Mold.

Denbighshire

Denbighshire, also in North-East Wales, is an historic county which can trace its history back to the Neanderthal and Palaeolithic periods but more recent history can be enjoyed at the numerous castles in the county.

Denbighshire is also home to one of the smallest cities in the UK, St Asaph, which also is home to one of the UK’s smallest Cathedrals.

Popular places for holidaymakers in Denbighshire include Denbigh, Prestatyn and Rhyl.

Conwy

The county borough of Conwy is located on the northern coast of Wales and is home to many of the most popular seaside holiday resorts in North Wales.

The River Conwy, from where the region gets it’s name from, runs from Snowdonia to the Irish Sea at the town of Conwy. One third of the stunning Snowdonia National Parks it’s in Conwy.

Popular locations for holidaymakers in the county include Llandudno, Betws-y-Coed, Conwy, Colwyn Bay and well as Snowdonia.

Gwynedd

Gwynedd is in the North-West of Wales, offering miles and miles of beautiful coastline line as well as view of Snowdonia from almost all parts.

The region links to the Isle of Anglesey via the Menai Strait and allows for easy exploration of North Wales and West Wales.

Both the beautiful Llyn Peninsula and the Snowdonia National Park sit in the county but for most holidaymakers, it is the seaside towns and resorts in Gwynedd that are the major draw with Caernarfon, Ffestiniog, Porthmadog and Pwllheli amongst the resorts to offer caravan holiday parks.

Isle of Anglesey

Anglesey is an Island of the coast of North Wales that is perhaps best known for the port of Holyhead which offers direct ferry services to Ireland. That makes for a great day out for holidaymakers but the Island is also home to stunning beaches, idyllic villages and wonderful countryside.

Anglesey, with an area of 260 square miles, is the largest Island in Wales and the 7th largest in the British Isles. The island is the largest in the Irish Sea and the 2nd most populous, behind the Isle of Man.

The Menai Straight, that separates Anglesey from the Welsh mainland is spanned by the iconic Menai Suspension Bridge which was designed in 1826.

The largest town on the island is Holyhead, which is the location for the ferry port and sits just off of the main island on Holy Island.

County Borough of Wrexham

Wrexham County Borough is the area in and around the county town of Wrexham in North East Wales. This is most populated part of North Wales with most living in the town of Wrexham itself but also in the more urban areas towards to the South of the town including the Ceiriog Valley.

For visitors, Wrexham is home to a decent choice of cafes, bars, restaurants and local shops whilst the Pontcysyllte canal boat aqueduct is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a must visit.

Wrexham is known for it’s sporting teams including footballs Wrexham FC and Rugby League’s North Wales Crusaders.
