Location
Barnstaple is located close to the coast in north Devon and near to the border between Somerset and Devon.
The town is well located for exploring the region as a number of roads run through what is thought of as the county town of North Devon and it is just a short drive to the M5 motorway and to Exmoor National Park.
Transport

Out and About
To the east of the town is the iconic Exmoor National Park. From taking some of the backroads and enjoying miles of stunning moorland to stopping off at a small village for a visit to a tearoom. Further west are a number of popular seaside holiday resorts on the Somerset coast with Watchet and Minehead close by. The Somerset county town of Taunton is well worth visiting.
Closer by and just to the east of the town is the North Devon seaside town of Westward Ho! whilst Ilfracombe is just to the north.
To the south west is the historic city of Exeter, the county town of Devon and with so many main roads passing through Barnstaple, you can easily reach all parts of Somerset, Devon and even down into Cornwall for a great day out no matter what you and your family enjoy doing.
