Hornsea

Hornsea is a small seaside resort that developed during the Victoria era thanks to the Hull and Hornsea Railway. The town is still popular for day trippers and weekenders with Bettison’s Folly, the Hornsea Mere and the sea front promenade amongst the main attractions.

Withernsea

Withernsea is another small seaside town and resort which has a white inland lighthouse as it’s most famous landmark. The lighthouse now houses a museum with the towns main claim to fame nowadays been the fact that the Prime Meridian passes through the North-West of Withernsea.

East Yorkshire is mostly home to open countryside and small villages but there are a number of urban areas that all offer something different for holidaymakers.

Hull

Hull is the largest city in East Yorkshire and is it’s main hub of sports, culture and shopping. Hull offers a good range of high street and local shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs but it is perhaps as a hot spot of Rugby League that the city is most famous.
